Italian Sub Sandwich

This homemade sub sandwich with zesty Italian deli meats and mozzarella is irresistible.

Ingredients

  • 2 Cracker Barrel Mozzarella Natural Cheese Slices
  • 1 hoagie bun, split (7-inch/18 cm)
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) mayonnaise
  • 2 tsp (10 mL) mustard
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) shredded lettuce
  • 4 slices tomato
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) Italian dressing
  • 3 slices Genoa salami
  • 3 slices soppressata salami
  • 2 slices mortadella
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) pepperoncini slices, drained

Directions

  1. Spread mayonnaise and mustard over bottom half of hoagie bun; top with lettuce and tomato slices. Drizzle with Italian dressing.
  2. Layer Genoa salami, soppressata, mortadella, cheese slices and pepperoncini over top.

Tips

Substitute arugula for shredded lettuce if preferred.

Toast sub sandwich in panini press if desired.
